Has anyone heard about the government offering our refunds by way of products?
I forget what they’re calling it but I’ve heard the "free money" (the 600-1200 bucks per family) that the Gov is trying to pump back into the economy, for some people, will come in the form of products!
I heard on NPR that "they" are afraid that people will use the money to pay off debt instead of spending it on products that will boost the economy. Therefore they are sending some families products instead of cash. One example was a woman in AZ who got sent an air conditioner that was roughly the value of the refund they were supposed to recieve.
Has anyone else heard this??
My tax guy says its probably a hoax but come on! It was a report on Marketplace on National Public Radio! Thats a responsible news source…
I don’t know what they’re so afraid of…..alot of people I know who are in tremendous debt can’t seem to stop buying new things anyway….
HAHA now that you mention it I think I do remember hearing the april fools thing but I’m in college so anything that I don’t need for a test or is vital to my life just falls right out of my head lol
It was an April fools joke, so no the irs is not going to buy something for you. After the report they said to check your calendar…
I actually believed them until they said the latter part.

It is a hoax. The government subsidies will be in the form of a check.

According to the IRS website, they’re not even going to start giving out the money until may, so I seriously doubt that this is true. You should check the website if you’re still unsure. http://www.irs.gov

They aren’t even sending the checks out until the beginning of May. So I don’t know what they hell you’re talking about mentioning the woman from Arizona…….. I’m pretty sure this is just a load of crap.

I never heard of that what I do know is that we are suppose to get our money on May 16. My uncle got a letter in the mail. I would think that it would be the same as getting the money and buying the air conditioner yourself. It would be pointless for them to do it in the way your saying it.
